When we started this Christmas-Video-Card SAGA back in 2021, we had no idea the enormous amount of success it would have, nor the GLOBAL anticipation that it sparked! But here we are, two years later, and we’ve received nothing short of love and laughs from every one of our closest family & friends around the world! So from Movies to Music, the third installment to our Christmas-Video-Card trilogy wraps up with an obvious choice… Television!

At the end of last year’s filming, David and I were sure we couldn’t ‘top’ what we had done. But shortly afterward, I had a dream and woke up with a brilliant idea! What if we were Rockstar’s? How would our story be told? Centered around VH1’s docuseries “Behind the Music” back in the late 90's, we imagined ourselves as this unstoppable Celebrity Card-making trio, whose rise to fame was the result of a happy accident from our fur-baby, Kingsley, by knocking over the Christmas tree. (Fun fact - our good friend, Dave Butler, made that ‘off the cuff’ comment back on our 2018 card and it stuck with me all these years later). Then like all Rockstar’s, we would branch off with our own solo careers. I had this one line repeating over in my head which was “I started a weed shop called Mistle-toke” – and thus – the idea for the ENTIRE 2023 Christmas card was born!

Next on the list was the “Holiday Meeting” which was an idea given to me by our dear friend, Justin! He mentioned the premise to me last year and I said to David, WE HAVE TO DO THAT! Of course, pulling off a table scene with multiple characters is certainly no easy task. That skit alone was probably our biggest endeavor that took the most amount of pre-planning and execution. But in the end, it's totally worth it to see David in his goth phase or channeling his inner "Paula Deen" as a campy Valentine's Day. I love pushing his limits, lol!

Finally, the Time Travel ornament skit was poised to be the closer of the video right from the start! I wanted to end this video with a BANG! We initially had the idea back in 2021, but I wasn’t sure how to pull it off, or where it would even fit into the context of our previous card themes. Given that this year's theme was to pay homage to our previous cards, it was an appropriate fit! Personally, this one is my favorite because it is thee hallmark of our creative spirit. It’s fun, adventurous, and ambitious - plus who doesn’t love a good time-travel movie??
 

This final Video-Card is sort of a love letter to our previous cards as it wraps up a chapter in our lives. We really don’t know how to top it from here, so this is a nice send-off to the trilogy - a salute to all the whacky antics and crazy cards we've created. With an 18-minute sketch comedy show that’s ALL original, an ensemble of holidays fighting, a reprise from Patrick Stewart, throw in a time-traveling stunt to wipe away a mortifying spelling error, and this card couldn’t be any more perfect! It’s our holiday opus to all of our family & friends and we really hope you enjoy it!
 

While the video itself was a monumental feat, the physical card was another challenge. Since the theme was Television, we thought it would be appropriate to do a TV guide with some of our favorite shows - but with a twist, naturally! I had the idea to use AI technology to paste our faces on TV posters with a simple click, but that proved to be a disaster. So all of the artwork you see was done painstakingly by hand. It was daunting, to say the least, but they look amazing!

Despite the biblical amount of hours put into this year's card, I can honestly say it was worth every minute! We can't express enough how much joy it brings David and I to put a smile on your faces and get everyone we care about into the Holiday Spirit! It literally is all the motivation we need to keep going! So signing off this year, we want to wish you and yours’ a very Merry Christmas! Much love to you all and we can’t wait to see you in 2024!
